Cancellation & changes
Can I cancel my booking?
Most rooms on begintravel are free-cancellation, and we always show the cut-off date on the room card and your confirmation. After the cut-off, the hotel's cancellation rules apply — these vary by rate and stay length. Rates explicitly marked Non-refundable cannot be cancelled or changed once confirmed.
How do I cancel?
Open Account → My bookings, pick the stay, and choose Cancel. You'll see a preview of any charges before you confirm; nothing is actually cancelled until you tap the final button.
Can I change my dates or the room?
We can't change dates or room types directly from the dashboard. Email support@begintravel.com with the booking reference and we'll work with the hotel to swap, free of charge whenever the rate allows.
Payment & pricing
When is my card charged?
Your card is authorised the moment you confirm the booking, but only captured (actually charged) once the hotel confirms the room. If the room isn't available you're released without ever being charged — the authorisation drops off within a few business days, depending on your bank.
Are taxes and fees included?
Yes. Every price you see on begintravel — search results, room cards, summary, checkout total — already includes all hotel taxes, city taxes, our markup, and Stripe fees. The total at checkout is the total you pay.
Which cards do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, and American Express via Stripe. Local cards from most Turkish banks are also supported. 3-D Secure (the SMS or app code your bank may request) is fully handled.
Where is my card data stored?
Nowhere on our servers. Stripe tokenises the card details on the checkout page; we only ever see a token and the last four digits. Full PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance via Stripe.
Voucher & check-in
When do I get my voucher?
The hotel voucher PDF lands in your inbox within minutes of the booking being confirmed by the hotel (usually under five minutes for direct-contract rates, occasionally up to a couple of hours for wholesale rates). You can also download it any time from Account → My bookings.
I haven't received the voucher email — what now?
First check your spam / promotions folder. If it's not there 30 minutes after booking, sign in and download the PDF directly from Account → My bookings. Still stuck? Email support@begintravel.com and we'll re-send.
Do I need to print the voucher?
A digital copy on your phone is fine at every hotel we work with — the reception just needs the booking reference. Print only if your data plan is spotty at arrival.
Account & rewards
Do I need an account to book?
No. You can book as a guest with just an email — we'll send the voucher there. If you create a free account later with the same email, all your past bookings get linked automatically.
How do rewards work?
Earn 1 point per US dollar spent on every captured booking. 1 point = $1 off any future booking, up to 30% of the booking total. Points expire 365 days after they're earned. Check your balance any time at Account → Rewards.
I want to delete my account / data.
Sign in, open Account → Profile and use Danger zone. You can export everything we hold on you as a JSON file, and request permanent deletion — both flows comply with KVKK Art. 11 and GDPR equivalents.

Is begintravel a real travel agency?
begintravel is the consumer brand of Sindibad Turizm Ticaret Anonim Şirketi, licensed by TÜRSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies) under No 10028. Registered tax office: Şişli, No 7701061307. We operate under Turkish Consumer Protection Law No 6502 and the Distance Sales Regulation.
What if the hotel walks me / overbooks?
Email or call us the moment it happens. We treat hotel-side overbooking as our problem to fix — we'll move you to an equivalent or better stay at our cost and reimburse any reasonable difference. This is covered in our Booking Conditions.
Site & technical
Why does the price change between searching and clicking through?
Hotel rates are live — they can shift between the moment we cache a result and the moment you open the room. When that happens we always show a price-changed banner with the new total before any payment. You can step back to other options.
Why are some rates marked 'Direct deal'?
Hotels we have a direct contract with — no wholesale middleman. The price is closer to what the hotel would charge you at the front desk. Same cancellation, same concierge.
